try sitting by a mountain stream
Mountains have a special energy, a clarity. The air is clean. And the mountains have a solidity to them. Their long life gives them a timelessness. So in general, it is wonderful, and very healthy, to spend time in the mountains. And when I am in or near the mountains, I often like to find a stream, a mountain stream, and simply sit by it. Watching and listening to the water easily takes me into a space of meditation, a space where I am quiet on the inside.
And the water itself seems to carry the energy of the mountains to me. It is fresh, cool, and very alive. It is as if the water is the dynamic aspect of the mountain: all that stillness of the mountain come to life. So sitting by a mountain stream, I can feel my body absorbing this clean energy, this freshness, the timelessness of the mountains. Breathing the air, the air itself is filled with the mountain stream, its coolness and freshness.
So being here, next to a mountain stream, without doing anything else, I feel my being is being cleansed, revitalised. There's a freshness entering into me, and even a hint of that timelessness of the mountains.
So give it a try: try sitting by a mountain stream.
